Terms of Use
Last updated October 6, 2026
This page is provided as a starting point and should be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.
These terms are the agreement between you and MJMX Holdings, LLC for using the BetterDL course. We've tried to keep them short and plain. By using the site, you agree to them.
1. The course
BetterDL is an online study course for college students learning digital logic. The first 3 topics are free and don't need an account. The full course is unlocked with a one-time payment of $60 (or a valid access code).
Unlocking the full course gives you access to all current topics, plus any updates we make to the course, for as long as we offer it. It is not a subscription and there are no recurring charges. We may improve, reorganize, or correct the content over time.
2. Your account
- You need an account to buy the course. You can sign up with email and password, Google, or GitHub.
- Give accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- Your access is personal to you. Please don't share your account or let others use it. Access can't be transferred or resold.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account.
3. What you may do with the content
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the course for your own, non-commercial study. All lessons, questions, explanations, diagrams, and practice exams remain ours (or our licensors').
You agree not to:
- copy, publish, redistribute, or resell the content, including posting questions or answers elsewhere;
- scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the site, or use automated tools to extract content;
- use the content to build a competing product or to train a commercial AI model;
- get around access controls, or try to break or overload the site.
Quoting a small part for personal notes or a study group discussion is fine.
4. Academic integrity
This is a study tool. Use it to learn and practice, not to cheat. Don't use it to complete graded work, quizzes, or exams in a way your instructor or school doesn't allow. Following your school's rules is your responsibility.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any university, college, or instructor. Course names and topics may match what you see in class, but our content is our own.
5. Accuracy
We work hard to make every lesson and question correct. Even so, the content may contain errors, and different courses sometimes use different conventions. Check with your instructor or course materials when it matters. If you spot something wrong, please use the “Report a problem” link on the question. It helps everyone.
6. Payments and refunds
Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our reseller and Merchant of Record. That means Lemon Squeezy is the seller of your order: it processes payment, collects any sales tax or VAT, and issues your receipt. Lemon Squeezy's own terms and privacy policy also apply to checkout. Prices are in US dollars, and the price you see at checkout is what you pay.
You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. A refund ends your full-course access. See our Refund Policy for details.
We may issue access codes (for example, to beta testers) that unlock the course for free. Codes are for the person they were given to, have no cash value, and may not be sold.
7. Referral program
Our referral program runs through Lemon Squeezy's affiliate program. To take part, you sign up as an affiliate with Lemon Squeezy and agree to its affiliate terms. In summary:
- You earn $20 for each completed sale made through your referral link.
- Lemon Squeezy tracks referrals and pays affiliates.
- If a referred order is refunded or charged back, the commission on it is reversed.
- No self-referrals (buying through your own link), no spam, and no misleading promotion. Don't bid on our name in search ads or pretend to be us.
- We can remove affiliates who abuse the program and withhold commissions earned through abuse.
- We may change or end the program at any time. Commissions already earned fairly will still be honored.
8. Ending your access
You can stop using the course at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by emailing betterdl@proton.me.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by sharing access, redistributing content, or abusing the referral program. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. If we close the course entirely, we'll give account holders reasonable notice.
9. Disclaimers
The course is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that the site will always be available or error-free, or that using it will lead to any particular grade or result.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or grades. Our total liability for any claim relating to the course is limited to the amount you paid us for it, or $0 if you used only the free topics or an access code.
Some places don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere. Before going to court, please email us. Most problems can be fixed quickly.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll let account holders know. Continuing to use the course after a change means you accept the new terms.
